Windermere SC Res 3 v AFC Carlisle 4

HT (1-2)

Great way to bounce back after last weeks disappointing result away to Dent.

We were slow to get started as a result of many things, including the change of pitch, kit drama and having to adjust to the ridiculously long grass. We conceded the first goal from the early pressure they put us under with a lobbed header that dropped into the far corner. Half way through the first half we started to take control and caught them out with a number of balls over the top to the corners. This lead to our first goal put away by Wayne Jackson. Then later in the first half, we capitalised on a mistake from their defence and Dan Chandler finished well to send us 2-1 up into the break.

We started the second half the better team, taking advantage of the extra space in behind as they were pushing for an equaliser. Our third goal came from a free kick brilliantly put into the back post where Tommy Sendall headed back across the face of goal and Dan Chandler tapped in from close range.

Our forth goal quickly followed Wayne Jackson brilliantly crossed a low ball into the box that made it to the back post and Dan Chandler smashed in his hatrick.

We then held out very comfortably for the rest of the second half until it came to the final 10 minutes... we conceded a poor penalty and then 60 seconds later conceded a third goal with a lobbed finish. We then had to soak up a lot of pressure in the final 5 minutes but managed to cleared our lines and Wayne Jackson and Kane Hebson did really good work in the corners to run down the clock, this also led to one of their players loosing his head and getting sent off.

We held out for the win, should have been more comfortable but we will take it and move onto next week!
